Welcome to the home page for Go Organic LLc.

Our mission is to provide 100% organic products and services that follow the principles developed by the NOFA Organic Land Care Standards.  We are accredited by NOFA and our motto is first "Do no harm."

Organic land care respects the land and its inhabitants, working with the natural systems of nature to enhance and assist plants to grow to their full potential in the landscape, without the use of synthetic chemicals or pesticides.

Chemicals used on lawns and athletic fields put children at riskof exposure through the skin, clothing and their toys, which can bring the chemicals into the home and vehicle.  Pets rolling and playing on a treated lawn are also at risk.

The good news is that society is moving toward the organic approach.  This is well evident by the Connecticut Legislature recently passing Public Act No. 07-168 on June 18, 2007.  Governor Rell signed HB 5234, An Act Banning Pesticide Use on School Grounds.  This law which went into effect on October 1, 2007, extends the ban on the use of lawn care pesticides at public shool grounds for grades 6, 7 & 8.  The use of toxic lawn care pesticides on playgrounds and athletic fields will be phased out by July 1, 2009.

We at Go Organic LLc believe all toxic fertilizers and pesticides should be banned from use on all lawns and landscapes.  Homeowners, businesses and athletic groups can take action now and transition their lawn and landscapes to an organic program.  Go Organic LLc was founded for the purpose of offering an all organic approach to land care.

One major factor for not switching to organics is usually the cost.  Organic fertilizers can cost more due to the fact they are made from natural plant materialsand mineral resources, but we have seen the price paid by the use of synthetics.

Organics works on the principle of feeding the soil and the soil will feed the plant.  Thus, it may and probably will take time for a previously chemically fed lawn or landscape to adjust to the organic approach.  Although it will require patience of the customer to understand that organics works on nature's terms, the benefits are a safe and healthy lawn and landscape for everyone.
